Welcome!
I'm Zoë. I'm a qualified & experienced Clinical Sexologist, Psychosexual Therapist, Sex & Relationship Therapist.
Simply put, my desire is to help people thrive & experience more joy in their relationships & consensual sexual experiences.
My tertiary qualifications include a post-graduate degree & masters studies in Sexology & Social Work, Philosophy & Theology Bachelor Degrees, & additional & on-going training in Psychosexual & psychotherapeutic models & approaches.
I use whats called an integrative psychosexual & psychotherapeutic approach of various therapies (because humans are complex!) : psychosexual, sexological, person-centred, interpersonal, existential, gestalt, ACT/mindfulness, cognitive & behavioural (incl CBT), exposure, somatic (body), psychoanalytic (Jungian) & psychodynamic, incorporating principles of Self-Actualisation & Individuation. I am a trauma informed trained therapist.

I draw upon the work of renowned psychosexual & psychotherapeutic experts with a focus on the complexities of relationships & sex.
This includes areas such as relational & sexual intelligence, sexual pleasure & diversity & ENM principles. Some of these practitioners include Betty Dodson, Emily Nagoski, Barbara Carrellas, Kavitha M. Chinnaiyan MD, David Deida, Esther Perel, Betty Martin, Michaela Boehm, John & Julie Gottman, Jack Morin, Emily & Barry McCarthy & Douglas Braun-Harvey, to name a few.
The Gottman Method, of which I am trained in, offers evidenced-based wisdom of 40+ years of longitudinal peer-reviewed research aimed at creating more satisfying, pleasurable & lasting emotional, sexual connections & relationships - whether applied to couples, or within ENM, polycule & sexually diverse relations.
Most importantly, I foster compassion & connection with clients, offering wisdom & knowledge above reliance on hard & fast formulas or generic worksheets. Any homework offered is tailored to your needs & indeed, can be loads of fun!

I support queer, sex & gender diverse identifying folx, sex workers, first nations peoples, refugees & asylum seekers, migrants & those of vast socio-political cultures, & individuals supported by the NDIS.
For a comprehensive list of presentations or issues I work with see the services section.
Sex Therapy is psychosexual talk therapy & touch is not involved (it may however be encouraged between couples/partners within sessions or as homework.
I previously worked as therapist in community based, government & acute specialist teams supporting people from vast backgrounds inclusive of diverse cultures, spiritual practices & abilities. These include psychotherapist @ Victorian AIDS Council (now Thorn Harbour Health), Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic, Gynaecology & Oncology @ Royal Women's Hospital, Urology, Breast @ the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre - Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre - VCCC), ATSI, refugee & asylum seeker counsellor, university student counsellor & program director, Victims of Crime counsellor/manager, Senior Mental Health Clinician, & On-Call Clinical Social Worker.

Publicity includes interviews by ABC Radio, Channel Nine News, Main 94.9 FM Castlemaine Victoria (Queer & Now Radio Program), addressing issues such as sexual pleasure, SMSM (straight men who have sex with men), & hyper-sexual or out of control sexual behaviours (commonly known as sex addiction)

"...i'm reminded of three rules we came up with, rules to live by.
& im just going to tell you what they are
because they came in really handy.
because things happen so fast it always good to have a few like, watchwords to fall back on.
& the first one is...
one.
don't be afraid of anyone. now, can you imagine living your life afraid of no one?
two.
get a really good bullshit detector.
& three.
three is be really really tender...
...& with those three things you don't need anything else..."
